SIR: Late afternoon last Tuesday 2nd of November I broke down while attempting. to leave the M3 at junction 11. I was trying to contact the AA when a young man in running gear banged on the window and said “You can’t stay here it’s much too dangerous” and he pushed my car round the corner away from the junction. While I was still trying to contact the AA another two men came and pushed my car further from the junction.

I was in contact with the AA when a fourth man came and offered to tow me into the Park and Ride car park where I could wait in safety for the AA. The clutch had cooled a little and he started the car and drove it into the car park. The AA were going to be some time getting to me so he suggested that I drive home, which was less than 10 minutes away, and he would follow me to make sure I got home safely, which he did.

I’m so grateful and would like to thank these four men, especially the last one, who took time to help me in what was a scary situation.

It’s nice to know that there are still good Samaritans around.
