An orchestra in Winchester is hosting a concert later this month with music by a renowned composer.
The concert takes place on November 20 at Winchester College New Hall featuring music by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Under the orchestra's musical director, Nicholas Wilks, the concert begins with the overture to ‘Die Geschöpfe des Prometheus’ (The Creatures of Prometheus) which was Beethoven's first overture, written in 1801 as part of a full-length ballet.
This is followed by Beethoven's Violin Concerto with Joo Yeon Sir as guest soloist. Joo Yeon has worked with the orchestra in the concertos by Dvořák and Elgar.
The concert will be concluded by the famous Pastoral Symphony, a work which expresses Beethoven's love of nature and the countryside.
The orchestra have made arrangements to make the concert as safe as possible.
They recommend spacing between parties in the hall and not to attend if you have tested positive or have Coronavirus symptoms.
The orchestra will refund your ticket payment if you have booked but then cannot attend for these reasons.
Tickets are available online or by calling the box office on 0333 666 3366.
