THE organisers of the Winchester Passion will need an entertainment licence for each of their city centre locations.
Hundreds of people will make up the cast and it will be the first passion play staged in the city since the 1970s, which was a more low key affair on the cathedral.
Three entertainment licences will be needed for performances at Oram's Arbour, the Great Hall and the Buttercross on Good Friday, March 21.
An application to hold a scene from the re-enactment of the Easter story at the Buttercross, and the nearby vicinity, has been submitted to Winchester City Council.
This, as yet undisclosed, scene is set to take place from 7.30-9pm.
Several churches in Winchester have joined forces to stage the spectacular, which will cost more than £50,000.
Around £21,000 has already been raised.
