WINCHESTER civic chiefs are pushing to rent out their empty garages.
The city council has nearly 2,000 lock-up garages available to rent to tenants, leaseholders or private residents.
Most are already been let and currently all existing empty ones are being inspected by its surveyor.
Applicants will be required to make sure they have no outstanding debts to the Council prior to being allocated a garage.
The prices of the garages range from £11.31 a week for council tenants and £17.09 for private residents in Winchester city to £14.33 to private residents in the rest of the district.
The application forms are on the council website.
