WINCHESTER MP Steve Brine has raised the issue of the Alresford man held as a hostage in Kuwait during the First Gulf war in 1990.

Clive Earthy was cabin services officer on a BA flight which was allowed to land in Kuwait and held with 386 others as 'human shields', by the Iraqi invaders.

Mr Earthy, of The Dean, wants the 1993 Government inquiry Operation Sandcastle to be published under the 30-year rule.

Mr Brine said he had tabled a written question in Parliament about the report.
