The MP for Winchester and Chandler's Ford visited a veterinary practice last week
Steve Brine MP dropped in to Chandler's Ford Veterinary Surgery to hear about the issues they’ve faced over the past year through the pandemic.
The MP was invited by surgery director, Beyers van Niekerk, and was joined by his two year old Labrador, Monty, where he met the team and heard about some of the work they do.
After the visit, Beyers said: “I got in touch with Mr Brine a couple of months ago regarding the impact the ping-demic could have on our team.
“Not only did he reply to me, he really tried to help and asked if he could visit as soon as it was possible to learn about our business.
“It was great to welcome Steve and Monty today and sit down to chat about the impact of the pandemic on the practice, the wider veterinary community, our patients, and their owners."
Steve Brine MP said: “It was a really enjoyable visit to Chandler’s Ford Veterinary Surgery and learn from Beyers who has so much knowledge and insight of the industry and challenges facing the sector at this time.
“There’s nothing glamorous about veterinary medicine but, as us pet owners know, they’re a true emergency service just getting on with the job.
“The practice team are really friendly and even Monty didn’t think they were too bad!”
