NEIGHBOURS said it would over shadow their homes but planners have approved changes to a house's extension in Wickham.
Ms C Duffy applied to alter an extension given permission in January of this year in Cold Harbour Close. It has yet to be built.
She wants the hipped end to become a gable, and windows to be replaced by roof lights.
But neighbour John Farrow told the planning committee, that the change would "make it even bulkier and increasing over-shadowing. It will intrude on our privacy and lead to a loss of sunlight."
Cllr Lorraine Rappe, of Wickham Parish Council said the "huge bulk" of the extension was not suitable for the location.
The planning committee that the extension already had planning permission and this application would extend the roof line by about six feet.
The committee voted by eight to one to approve the application.
