A CARE provider which operates across Hampshire has celebrated their one millionth home care visit.

The Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey branch of Bluebird Care celebrated the milestone alongside their regional colleagues after proudly delivering their one millionth home care visit.

The care provider, which delivers services directly to people’s homes, has continued to care for those most in need throughout the Covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns.

With infection risks proven to be higher in group settings, Bluebird Care’s in-home support service has been growing in popularity after it was highlighted as one of the safer options for vulnerable people who need care.

Bluebird Care Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey started out with just two team members, but now employ over 200 local staff.

Norman Murphy, managing director of Bluebird Care Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey, said: “It’s an incredibly proud moment to reach the million visit mark and just shows the incredible effort and commitment our team has for those who are most in need.

“We pride ourselves on providing outstanding care come rain, snow or shine, and even throughout a pandemic.”

Karen Monckton, a care assistant at Bluebird Care Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey, said: “When you consider the amount of time, planning, effort and coordination that goes into each home care visit, it amazes me to think we have collectively undertaken those efforts on one million occasions.

“I’m immensely proud to have been a part of it, and know I speak on behalf of my colleagues when I say how much of a privilege it is go to work for customers in the community."
