WINCHESTER Basics Bank (WBB) recently held its first Annual Meeting for over two years at the Vineyard Church in Bar End.
Chairman Mike Whitehead said: “After such a long time dealing with the pandemic, it was great to have a meeting in person with so many of our supporters, volunteers, referral agents and city council representatives present.”
The audience heard about how WBB had to cope with demand for emergency food shooting up three times almost overnight at the start of the first lockdown in April 2020. Since then it has added facilities and now has four food hubs located around the city and in Alresford, a fully stocked clothes hub catering for all adults and children at the Vineyard Church and a recently opened bulk sorting and storage site in Winnall.
Any local resident requiring support with food or clothing is invited to make contact at www.winchesterbasicsbank.co.uk
