A Halloween themed activity trail is coming to the streets of Winchester this month.

Winchester Business Improvement District (BID) are organising the Spooky Winch Word Hunt from October 16 to 31.

Around the streets of the city, there will be nine Halloween themed words hidden in pumpkin signs displayed in the windows of local businesses.

Each area of the city will have its own coloured pumpkin sign.

Completed trail sheets will need to be returned to either the Visitor Information Centre or Winchester Discovery Centre to collect a Halloween goody bag and be entered into a prize draw to win a hamper, filled with lots of gifts, kindly donated by local businesses.

Thania Miah, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Winchester BID, said: “We are delighted to be hosting Spooky Winch again, with many local businesses getting involved in this Halloween-themed seasonal activity.

“This is a great opportunity for us to work with local businesses and other local partner organisations to help promote everything that Winchester has to offer this October.

“The Spooky Winch Word Hunt is a great way of introducing people to all the different areas of the city and is a fun familiarisation activity centred around the heart of our beautiful heritage city of Winchester.”

Winchester BID is inviting people you to enjoy some of Winchester’s shops, cafes, restaurants and other local businesses along the way.

Get involved in fancy dress if you would like to and tag @WinchesterBID and use #SpookyWinch on social media to show your spooky selfies and adventures.

You can download a Spooky Winch activity sheet from the Winchester BID website: https://winchesterbid.co.uk/spooky-winch-2021/ or collect sheets from the Visitor Information Centre or Discovery Centre from October 16.
