PUPILS at Braishfield Primary School arrived back for the new academic year to greet the newly appointed head teacher, Jim Cascarini.

Jim has over 20 years teaching and leadership experience in Hampshire schools and has accepted the challenge of leading this school community.

Jim said: “I am so thrilled to be part of this wonderful school. Although Braishfield is a small school, our pupils have big ambitions, and it is wonderful to feel the excitement they have in being back together again.”

Following new guidance from the Government, schools have been able to return without `bubbles` and the need for social distancing.

Jim added: “Being able to mix together, move around the school and work together across classes is something which makes Braishfield School very special.

“The buddy system, where older pupils are paired with younger ones, really helps cultivate a ‘family feel’. The children are so pleased that assemblies, singing and break times all together can happen again.

“I personally feel so lucky to be beginning my headship as things are finally getting back to normal for primary schools. These last few terms have been tough for all children, so the chance to rebuild the community is very welcome.”
