TWO planning applications have been thrown out by Winchester City Council planning officers this week.

Tal Russ had looked to build a detached shed and replace the fence to the front boundary of Chilcomb View, 26A Quarry Road, Winchester.

Mr and Mrs Gartside wished to convert their garage to a two storey annex at 109 Springvale Road, Kings Worthy.

But using their delegated powers, council officers decided to refuse these applications.

There were dozens of more fortunate applicants, however.

Mr and Mrs Hopper can convert their loft with a rear dormer and extend the ground floor of 34 St Johns Road, Winchester.

At 55 Romsey Road, Mr and Mrs Tibbitts can alter the internal layout of the top floor including a new front linked dormer window, a new roof light and a new sun tunnel.

Elizabeth Roberts can replace a slatted wooden privacy screen to the first floor balcony of 6 Hazel Court. This will be with a glass screen.

Robert Smith of 7 Conifer Close can demolish his conservatory and replace it with a rear extension, and also extend the west side for a plant room with solar panels.

A single storey rear extension and a side extension can be erected at Nelmes, Cheriton Road, as per Mr Comb's application.

Up in Wonston David Smith can replace the lean-to plastic corrugated roof and timber supports of the car port at Pilgrim Cottage, Hunton Lane.

In Colden Common Mr and Mrs Eyles will erect a two-storey rear and single storey front extension at 26 Tees Farm Road.

Not far away in Compton and Shawford Mr and Mrs Grant can replace the garage with a residential annexe at Uplands, Hurdle Way.

Andrew Hayward of Skirrows, Littleton Road, Crawley, can erect a two storey rear extension, an attached garage, and remodel the front elevation.

Mr and Mrs Ball in Littleton and Harestock can replace the conservatory to the side of Landacre, Fairclose Drive.

In South Drive, Mr and Mrs Peters can convert the chalet bungalow Sunbeams into a two storey dwelling with side extensions.

Beverley Young at 72 Priors Dean Road, Harestock, can erect a single storey front extensions.

In Northington Mr and Ms Norman and Hamilton can demolish the garage at 68 Northington Hill and erect a two storey side extension, as well as a detached double garage.

Last on this week's list is Mr Cartwright, who has retrospective permission to make alterations at 19 The Ridings, Waltham Chase.
