A GARDEN party for Armed Forces veterans was enjoyed by over 200 people last week.

The event was part of the British Armed Forces charity, The Not Forgotten, nationwide live drive-in concert tour to support veterans and give them a morale boost after spending so long in lockdown.

The tour features 11 complimentary ‘Forgot You Not Rock’ summer garden party drive-in concerts for veterans and their guests, with two hosted at The Grange near Alresford on September 8.

The drive-in concerts featured live music, dancing, interactive games and raffle, a BBQ and refreshments.

Lord and Lady Ashburton attended and presented a prize of a bottle of champagne to residents of Moorlands Lodge Care Home in Hindhead who won the ‘best dressed’ competition.

Brigadier James Stopford, CBE, CEO of The Not Forgotten said: “Despite the easing of restrictions, it has been an incredibly challenging time for so many who have suffered with loneliness and mental health issues.

“We are bringing some much-needed cheer, fun and entertainment to veterans across the country and are extremely grateful to Lord and Lady Ashburton for giving us this wonderful opportunity to entertain our beneficiaries.”

Lord and Lady Ashburton said: “We were delighted to welcome The Not Forgotten and their beneficiaries at The Grange for their summer party.

“The event is a brilliant idea and gave so much pleasure. We are a honoured to have been asked to host it.”
