A BENCH that tells wartime stories has been unveiled in Bishop's Waltham.

The Basingwell Street seating area plays recordings of two villagers, who recall their experiences from the 40s in the local area.

Jean Marriner has recorded her memories of war-time in Waltham Chase and Den Marriner of his Exton childhood in the Second World War for oral historians at Bishop’s Waltham Museum.

Osborne Property Services installed the bench before it was given to the parish council by the museum.

Bishop’s Waltham in Bloom assisted with a makeover of the Sensory Garden for the big day.

At the unveiling, Den passed on his memories to pupils of Bishop’s Waltham Junior School.
