A SOUTHAMPTON fast-food outlet remains closed more than a week after a ram-raid.

The KFC in Bursledon Road was left damaged during an attempted burglary earlier in July.

A pile of bricks and debris were left outside the restaurant following the unsuccessful raid.

The fast-food giant has confirmed its branch will remain closed while repairs are made.

A KFC spokesperson said: “KFC Bursledon Road was broken into on Saturday, July 17 and we’re working closely with the police to find out exactly what happened. In the meantime, we have had to close the restaurant temporarily, but rest assured we’re working hard to reopen soon so our fans can get their fried chicken fix.”

The Daily Echo has asked when it is likely to reopen.

Police enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary previously said: "We can confirm it is being treated as an attempted burglary at this stage, although nothing appears to have been stolen.

"Officers continue to investigate, no arrests have been made at this time."

Anyone with any information is urged to call police on 101 quoting crime reference number 44210283344.
