A VILLAGER near Winchester has been banned from the road for drink driving.
Lewis Wooding, 30, of Mill Lane, Abbots Worthy, was caught by police on Basingstoke Road, Kings Worthy, on June 30, a court heard.
When tested his alcohol reading was 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath double the legal limit. He pleaded guilty.
District Judge Tim Pattinson, sitting at Basingstoke Magistrates Court, imposed an 18-month disqualification, a £240 fine, £85 costs and £34 victim surcharge. The ban will be cut by 18 weeks if Wooding passes an approved course by July 15 2022.
