WITH temperatures set to soar over the next two days there is no better time to plunge into a nice cool pool.

With highs of 25 degrees Celsius expected over the upcoming days, we have made a list of the top outdoor public pools in Hampshire for you to take a dip in.

Pack up your swim trunks and sun cream and head down to make the most out the sunshine and fresh air.

Lymington salt water baths

Set within the popular Georgian market town of Lymington, you will find the oldest open air sea water baths in the UK.

Dating back to 1833 the baths have historically gained national interest for their health-giving waters and natural mud minerals. Today, young and old still swim in the waters and enjoy the stunning location with views over to the Isle of Wight.

Here you will find a fully staffed 110m sea water pool with a whopping 200 metres of inflatable obstacle courses ad well as stand-up paddle boards.

Swim sessions cost just £3, with under 16’s costing £2.

A one-hour session on the inflatables costs £10per person or £7.50 for under 16’s on a week day and on weekends £15 per person, or an hour on paddleboards costs £8 per hour.

Petersfield open air pool

The pool was newly renovated in 2020 and is now heated so you won’t be too chilly with water temperature usually about 27 degrees Celsius.

There are hot showers here and individual changing rooms plus a big sun terrace and picnic benches where you can enjoy ice creams, snacks and hot drinks.

The pool is 25 metres long and goes down 3 metres in the deep end where there is a springboard.

Adult tickets cost between £4.50 – £6.50 depending on the session and under 16’s tickets are between £3.00 – £4.00.

Aldershot lido

Aldershot Lido is one of the largest outdoor pools in the country.

Complete with water slides, toddler paddling pool, sandpit, picnic area, basketball courts and pool side café there is something for all the family here.

It provides a great alternative if you don’t fancy driving all the way to the beach on a hot and sunny day.

The lido is a huge 67-metre-long unheated outside pool ranging from 1 metre deep to 4.5 metres with a deep diving pit and a two-metre-high diving platform.

The site has shower cubicle and changing rooms as well as the Blue Lagoon tearoom and kiosk.

Fun swims range between £3.50 ‎- ‏£4.00 with adult swim sessions costing £5.
