AN 11-YEAR-old boy was assaulted by an unknown man as he walked through an alleyway in Weeke.

At around 8.30am yesterday (July 13) the boy was walking along Bereweeke Avenue and turned left into an alleyway between Taplings Road and Eling Close.

While walking down the alleyway, he was approached by a man not known to him who put his arms around the boy’s waist. The boy managed to free himself and ran off to find his mother.

Hampshire police has said that it is treating the incident as an assault, however the boy did not suffer any injuries.

The man is described as white, aged 30 to 35, with black shoulder-length hair with grey in it. He was wearing a black puffa-style jacket on with the hood up, a black beanie hat, white jogging bottoms and trainers which were possibly Puma branded.

A police spokesperson said: “Did you see what happened? Do you have any information that can help us?”
