SIR: As a resident and active member of Bishop's Waltham's community, I can say with certainty that there has been no 'witch hunt' (Chronicle, July 1) which, it has been stated, led to the temporary closure of Bishop's Waltham Post Office.
What has been the case is that one person working in the Post Office saw fit to be extremely rude and unhelpful to customers on many occasions which I personally witnessed and experienced. These concerns were shared on Voice for Bishop's Waltham Facebook page.
On no occasion were other members of staff implicated in this situation. This suggestion was made by the person whose customer service has been questioned - perhaps in an attempt to deflect attention from themselves. On the contrary, I have heard nothing but praise for the other members of staff for their helpful, efficient and pleasant service.
