A PUPPY has joined police in Hampshire after he was purchased using money seized in drugs operations.
The eight-week-old Cocker Spaniel and his brother, who has been named Cash, were bought with money seized during drug operations under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Now the pair are set to begin their training to become drug sniffer dogs.
Once training is finished they will join the Dog Section of Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police's Joint Operations Unit.
A police spokesperson said: "We work hard to take this money out of criminal hands, so we thought two sniffer dog puppies would be a great way to invest some of it."
An appeal has now been launched to find a name for the pup and police are asking social media users for help.
Using the Hampshire Constabulary facebook page, people are being asked to comment their name suggestions in the comment section, with the winning name due to be announced on Wednesday.
