A HAMPSHIRE college has donated a minibus to a local charity.

Barton Peveril Sixth Form gave the vehicle to PEDALL, a New Forest based organisation that provides inclusive cycling to individuals across the region.

Its services aim to facilitate those who do not have access to cycling and its many benefits, due to: age; economic, cultural and social challenges; health issues; mobility issues; physical and intellectual disabilities; special educational needs; and recovery from injury or illness.

Barton Peveril donated the minibus after updating its current fleet of minibuses, which helps its students travel to educational and sporting opportunities away from campus.

PEDALL Project Manager, Donna Neseyif said the bus will enable the charity to help people with additional needs to access cycling and wellbeing opportunities that they would ordinarily be unable to enjoy.

"We are so thankful to Barton Peveril for their tremendous generosity and kind donation to the PEDALL project," she added.

“Barton Peveril have been outstanding in the support they have given to the project and a fantastic example of how the local community can help charities such as PEDALL to support the most vulnerable in our society to improve health and wellbeing."

The organisation also recently secured funding from The Lottery Community Fund to help the project run for the next three years.
