A MEON Valley school has recorded a positive case of coronavirus and has told pupils to stay home.

Swanmore College has told parents that it has received a report this evening (Tuesday) that a Year 10 pupil has contracted Covid-19.

The school has said that it is now working out who has been in close contact with the student and has asked all Year 10 pupils to remain at home tomorrow.

In a Facebook post, the school said: “We have received a positive result for a Year 10 pupil this evening.

To enable us to carry out an accurate close contact/track & trace process, all Year 10 pupils will need to remain at home tomorrow (Wednesday 30 June). We cannot risk pupils travelling on transport or being on site, only to be sent home again.

“Live lessons will be available via Google Classroom.

“We will update you tomorrow once we have details of who must continue to isolate and who may return to Swanmore College on Thursday 1 July.

“We apologise for any inconvenience, however, it is imperative that we continue to keep everyone as safe as possible.”
