FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire involving a wooden stable block at a farm in Upham on Tuesday.
Crews from Bishops Waltham, Eastleigh and Hightown were called to the scene at 2.21pm and found smoke and flames issuing from the structure upon arrival at the Winchester Road farm.
The blaze began within loose hay before spreading to the stables, as the owners helped evacuate the horses.
Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, one jet, two hose reel jets, Fareham’s water carrier and an on-site digger to extinguish the fire.
Three adults were treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation before fire crews left the scene at 3.17pm.
