A MAN was arrested yesterday after failing to stop for police, prompting an armed response from officers.

The chase began in Otterbourne, when officers on routine patrol spotted a vehicle being driven in "an antisocial matter" along Boyatt Lane.

After failing to stop for police, the driver made off at speed towards Eastleigh, leaving his bumper and various parts of his car imbedded in a nearby bush.

Hampshire Chronicle:

An area search was conducted by officers from the Winchester and Eastleigh Neighbourhood Teams, Response and Patrol team and Hampshire Constabulary Armed Response units.

Eventually the driver was apprehended by armed officers on Shakespeare Road.

The man was placed in custody after being arrested for various driving offences, failing to stop for police and being in possession of a Class B drug.
