WHO is in serious need of a holiday? Well, from next Monday, the Government says you can jet off for some sun.

From May 17, the “stay in the UK” restriction will lift and people will be able to travel to 'green list' countries, although they are still being advised not to go to destinations on the 'amber list'.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that just twelve countries will be placed on this 'green list', which means you only have to quarantine if you test positive.

And going on holiday isn't like it was pre-pandemic.

Before you jet off, you must:

  • Complete a passenger locator form
  • Take a Covid-19 test, and test negative
  • Book and pay for a "day 2 Covid-19 test", which must be used on or before the second day after you arrive home. If this tests positive, you will then need to quarantine.

What are the 'green list' countries?

But which 'green list' destinations can you fly to from Southampton Airport?

Well, there are a couple, but as you can imagine, you won't be jetting off to Australia or New Zealand.

But, let's not get too down about that, as you can still fly to a few places on the 'green list'.
