SIR: Winchester Talking Newspaper (WTN) provides free sound recordings of the Hampshire Chronicle to our 80 or so visually impaired listeners. Our service is a valuable lifeline for them.

We have an urgent problem, which I hope someone amongst the readers of your newspaper can help us solve.

We currently operate from premises in Twyford. The owners of the building in which we are a tenant are Humphrey Farms, who will be redeveloping the site, so we need to vacate our studio by the end of August. Humphrey Farms have been excellent and generous landlords, charging us only a token amount for an annual lease. We thank them enormously.

We are a registered charity with no regular income and rely on donations and bequests. Our service will be put at serious risk if we can't find premises from which to operate.

We need a room about 15 square metres with access to electricity and a WC; the room must be for our exclusive use.

If anyone reading this letter can help – with premises, finance or advice – I ask them please to contact me. My telephone number is 07702 729454 and my email address is jprich@tiscali.co.uk.
