CHURCHES, community centres and many portacabins are to welcome voters today for the latest local elections.

Polling stations are due to open at across Winchester between 7am-10pm on Thursday.

At least one seat in each of Winchester City Council’s 14 wards is being contested, and two seats are open in St Michael’s ward.

Voters will also have the chance to have their say on who should represent them on Hampshire County Council as well as voting for Hampshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner.

Several community centres and churches across the district are being using as polling stations this year, with six portacabins also being used.
