LIKE many organisations and businesses, the pandemic has had a major impact on the activities of Party in the Park (PITP).

This years’ and last years’ events were cancelled – but the team is now looking to work with like-minded groups and people to bring a brighter future for Stanmore and surrounding communities.

Working in collaboration with the Carroll Centre they are planning to host a meeting to discuss the future of PITP which is a free event for the local community.

It often attracts around 2,000 people.

The meeting is planned for Wednesday May 12 at 6pm.

Steve Ruggles, PITP Chairman said: “The meeting on May 12 will hopefully be the start of a more collaborative approach to supporting the community. Working in partnership with other organisations, pooling resources, sharing knowledge and expertise and building an army of volunteers can bring much more benefit to the community. If nothing else this last year has demonstrated what great things can be achieved when people come together to support each other.”
