A BANKSY-STYLE artwork has been daubed on the wall of a Hampshire leisure centre.

A piece of graffiti similar in style to that of the elusive artist, Banksy, has appeared on the wall of Places Leisure in Eastleigh.

It shows a young boy jabbing his finger at floating bubbles on a wall of the council-run sports centre off Passfield Avenue.

The creation is very similar to other images across the country, including two pieces of art in Southampton on Shirley Road, Mount Pleasant Road, and work in Bevois Valley.

However, despite appearing similar to work by Banksy, the image has been signed off by a local artist called Hendog.

On their Instagram page, @hendog_art, they describe it simply as "Bubble Boy".

In March, another work by the same artist was stencilled on a wall near the Handlebar Cafe in Winchester.

One of his paintings, which was gifted to Southampton's biggest hospital during the first wave of the pandemic sold for more than £16 million.

The painting, depicting a child playing with a nurse superhero doll, was sold at Christie's making a whopping £16,758,000 at auction last month.

All proceed from the sale will be used to support health organisations and charities across the UK that enhance the care and treatment provided by the NHS.
