THREE retail units in Winchester High Street have been purchased by Gentian Developments.
The city-based company plans to remodel 7-8 High Street – meaning the future of Rick Stein and Closs and Hamblin is currently unclear.
The third unit is 50 Colebrook Street, which was previously occupied by hairdressing chain Regis.
A spokesperson said: "At the moment there is no defined plan on the remodelling. Gentian will be discussing possible options with the current tenants."
Future development plans for the newly purchased property include re-modelling the ground floor areas and converting the upper floors into apartments.
Nick Hanson, director, said: “This acquisition is a significant investment for us. It demonstrates our confidence in the future of Winchester’s retail offering and our continued commitment to the city.’
The Chronicle contacted Rick Stein and Closs and Hamblin, but neither have responded.
