NINE people have been reported for summons after a birthday party allegedly in breach of Covid regulations.

Police were called following reports of a house party at a property in Nightingale Avenue, Eastleigh.

A 49-year-old woman from Eastleigh was reported for summons in relation to a fixed penalty notice after breaching Covid-19 regulations.

However, after a search of the property officers found eight men from both Eastleigh and Southampton in the garden and in an upstairs bedroom.

They have all since been reported for summons for breaching Covid-19 regulations for consideration of a fixed penalty notice.

Police also seized a large quantity of Class B drugs, cash and drug-related paraphernalia from a vehicle spotted at the property.

A police spokesperson said: "Under the current national restrictions you should not be meeting with anyone outside of your household or support bubble, either indoors or outdoors, to limit the spread of Covid-19."

Enquiries are still ongoing.
