THE four Test Valley areas that are nearly Covid-free have been revealed in new Government data.

A map on the Government coronavirus dashboard, in the week to February 24, shows the locations across the borough with fewer than three cases.

This means the data for these areas is suppressed to protect individuals' privacy.

The places with fewer than three cases were Romsey Cupernham and Halterworth, Abbotswood and West Wellow, Chilbolton, Clatford and Barton Stacey as well as Andover West.

Clatford and Barton Stacey was the only location to be classified as suppressed since February 17.

The interactive map breaks down infections in England into small areas with a population of around 7,200 called Super Middle Output Areas (MSOAs).

For each MSOA, the map shows the number of cases in the past week, increases or decreases compared to the week before and the rate of cases per 100,000 people.

Cases continued to fall across most of the borough, which has a below-average infection rate compared to the UK average, but there were still four areas where coronavirus was growing.

These were Andover Charlton & Bourne Valley, Andover London Road and East Anton, Andover Newbury Road and Chilworth, Nursling and Rownhams.

Andover London Road and East Anton had the highest infection rate with 28 cases - up by five on the previous week - and a weekly rolling rate of 165.0 cases per 100,000 people.

However, there were still four places in Test Valley with five or fewer Covid cases based on figures from Public Health England from the week ending on February 24.

They are:

  • Romsey Town (4 cases; the number of infections stayed the same from the previous week; rolling rate of 67.0)
  • Valley Park (5 cases; -2 on the previous week; rolling rate of 66.7)
  • Nether Wallop, King's Somborne and Dunbridge (3 cases; the number of infections stayed the same from the previous week; rolling rate of 38.6)
  • Over Wallop and Shipton Bellinger (5 cases; -4 on the previous week; rolling rate of 68.9)
