FROM Minnie Mouse, to the Incredibles and even a dinosaur, Alresford was inhabited by a group of unusual characters at the weekend.
The town got behind the idea of a fancy dress day on Saturday to break the monotony of lockdown and raise money for charity.
Willing participants were encouraged to walk around their houses, gardens, take exercise and even go to the shops in their costumes.
Writing on the event’s Just Giving page, Paul Martindale said: “On a Zoom call with friends during the third UK lockdown we were discussing what might we do to inject a little bit of fun to the day to day monotony. Something simple. And the idea developed from a small fancy dressing event to a town-wide event.”
So far the fancy dress fundraiser has raised more than £700 for NHS Charities Together. To donate, go to justgiving.com/fundraising/alredressedup.
