AT JUST six years old, Arthur Grinstead has raised hundreds of pounds for his school.

Like thousands of other children Arthur has been restricted on when he can go out and play with friends, writes Sam Hatherley.

So instead the Owslebury Primary School pupil chose to read 100 books in just one day as a fundraiser.

He has already surpassed his target of £500 and the donations continue to pile in.

“My small school needs some money to help with improvements to the playground and for the creation of a sensory garden,” said Arthur, before taking on the stack of books on January 30.

“This year, the school hasn’t been able to put on its usual fundraising events due to Covid so I have set myself the challenge of reading 100 books in just one day!

“Please help me to raise some money for my school, all the children deserve it.”
