Sir: I think that we ought to acknowledge all the volunteers that are helping in all parts of the city to give the corona vaccinations.

My experience has been incredible, in as much as everyone is kind, considerate and assuring. There is one group of people that I would like to acknowledge and that's the Winchester Rotary Club. They have put themselves out willingly and joyfully in the Discovery Centre to help. I don't know whether it's commonly known that Winchester Rotary has dedicated itself to many international crisis ie Wells for India, trying to eradicate Polio throughout the world, young carers and many, many more, they step in and they administer the financial side of things by raising as much money as they can for these projects. Having raised the money they transfer the funds to whatever country that is in need of that funding. It goes to another department in that country because Rotary has offices all over the world. So often there is not the middle man. I think it's worth saying that all these volunteers, whoever they are, colour or creed, makes no difference, they give of themselves and we ought to be incredibly grateful. And as far as Winchester Rotary is concerned the work goes on even in lockdown.

We will come through this terrible time and vaccination is the way forward so we should say hurray to all those volunteers and may it continue.
