SIR: The Chronicle has published a lot of news items about potential development sites in recently, which has raised the interest in planning matters ever higher!
Thank you, a much wider group of residents want to get involved in the planning process now.
The Local Plan process is filled with regulation, consultation and examination!
In comments to your paper I have said consistently that strategic planning, especially for greenfield sites, has several steps with public consultation at every stage and that developer promotion of a site does not imply permission has been or will be given.
It is the Local Plan which determines what remains as countryside and where the principle of homes and employment would be allowed.
I’m writing to give readers advance notice of the next stage of consultation of the Local Plan which was approved at January’s Cabinet meeting.
Winchester City Council is inviting public feedback from all ages and backgrounds on the potential Strategic Issues and Priorities for the new Local Plan 2038.
To do this, the website ‘Your Place Your Plan' will go live from February 15.
