A PUPIL at Compton All Saints school has been recognised by J.K. Rowling.

Charlie Fielder entered the author’s illustration competition for the The Ickabog, the book she published daily online during the first lockdown.

Charlie’s entry was one of 18,000 for the UK edition.

He received a signed copy of the book and £500-worth of children’s books to be donated either to a public or school library. Fortunately for the school, he chose to donate them to Compton All Saints.

Headteacher Ally Driver said: “We are excited to have such a large and exciting set of new books to add to our library.

There are hardbacks as well as paperbacks which is lovely.

“We have been working on ways to use our library in a Covid-safe way and this has given us a real motivation boost for next term.”

J.K. Rowling is most famously known as the author of the Harry Potter series, as well as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
