SIR: I object to the Royaldown housing project of building 5,000 homes south of Winchester. It is too many; Winchester needs green belt land as it's partly what make Winchester a unique city in the world and in history.

For those who wish to object to the 5,000 homes there is a Facebook group called Save South Winchester. It's a great group, join up and get your voice heard.

In my view in fill Winchester, the old Friarsgate surgery and other buildings at Silver hill have sat empty for many years. Here's an idea, convert those places into city council, starter flats on peppercorn rents, for the homeless and others on low income.

I'm a proud Wintonian and English Democrat, in our party we campaign for places to keep greenbelts of land.
