A MEON Valley villager has been banned for drink driving near Bishop's Waltham.

Liam Brown, 20, of Bucks Head Hill, Meonstoke, was stopped by police officers in Winchester Road, Upham, on March 28 whilst he was driving a 17-reg vehicle.

Basingstoke Magistrates Court heard that his alcohol reading was 87 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath, nearly three times the legal limit of 35.

Brown was present in court to admit the charge and was disqualified for 18 months fined £346 with a £35 victim surcharge ad £85 costs.

The ban will be cut by 133 days if he passes an approved course by November 11 2021.
