A HEDGE End man has been convicted of assault and drink riding near Winchester.
Jack Robert Kane, 29, admitted assaulting by beating of Michael Basham and Megan Kane in Winchester on August 31.
He also admitted riding 16-reg Honda motorbike with excess alcohol on Badger Farm Road, near Winchester on August 12 and criminal damage to a Honda Jazz car owned by Ms Kane.
His alcohol reading was 69 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath, nearly double the legal limit of 35. He also admitted failing to stop on Badger Farm Road when ordered by a police officer in uniform.
Magistrates in Basingstoke fined Kane £120 for the assaults with £50 compensation to Mr Basham and imposed a community order with a thinking skills programme to last 19 days. There will be a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 30 days and the order to do 60 hours unpaid work.
For the driving offence he was disqualified from the road for 18 months.
Magistrates also imposed a two-year restraining order banning him from contacting Ms Kane or going to Manor Road and Pitt Road in Winchester and Brambridge Garden Centre. The order will run until November 22 2022.
