THIRTY-FIVE positive cases of coronavirus were recorded in Basingstoke and Deane yesterday (Thursday).

It means that the total number of cases confirmed in the last week has dropped.

Between November 20 and 26, 165 people tested positive for Covid-19, which is down 68 (29.2 per cent) on the previous week.

It comes after it was announced that Basingstoke and Deane would be in tier two after the end of lockdown.

The borough, as with the rest of Hampshire, will be on high alert when national restrictions are eased on December 2.

It means that residents not in the same bubble will be unable to mix indoors and pubs can only serve alcohol should they serve a substantial meal.
