A WINCHESTER church has launched an appeal on social media to help repair a war memorial damaged by vandals.
The stone monument at Holy Trinity church on Upper Brook Street commemorates the parishioners killed in the Great War.
The appeal on www.gofundme.com aims to raise £5,000, the estimated cost of repairs. So far it has gathered in £310.
Churchwarden John Kimber hopes the War Graves Commission may be able to give a grant.
Mr Kimber added: "On another note, if anyone knows of anyone who lost their lives during the second world war we would love to add them to the memorial."
