The Gazette's weatherman Andy Simmonds looks ahead to what weather north Hampshire can expect during the next seven days.

A big change in the weather is likely this coming week as high pressure takes centre stage on meteorological charts of the British Isles and the North Atlantic Ocean. This is good news for our part of the world because a lot of dry and cold weather will be on offer until the middle of next week at least. However, it does not mean that it will be sunny every day because a fair amount of cloud is likely too.

But a word of warning, low pressure will try and push the high pressure well to the east of the British Isles later next week opening up the door for less settled weather to regain control for a time.

And if the low pressure does win the battle, a few showers are possible in places.

Some very frosty and foggy nights are likely and these conditions could linger well into the next day during the week ahead. Generally, temperatures will below average for late-November and early December. But on some days later next week maximum temperatures may climb to 11C or 12C which is above the norm.

Looking further ahead to the second week of December, there is a hint that even colder weather is possible with perhaps wintry showers developing in our neck of the woods. Watch this space for more details.
