DRIVERS will have to follow a 31-mile diversion around Basingstoke to bypass roadworks.
Carriageway surface repairs will take place on B3400 London Road, Overton, between Winchester Street and Burley Lane.
The works are programmed to commence on November 23 and are expected to last for 5 days, during which time the road will need to be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 09:00 to 16:30 hrs.
The road will be open during the evening and pedestrian access will be available at all times.
The Streetworks website states “Access for residents and businesses will be maintained wherever possible during the working.”
Hampshire County Council has published the official diversion route online, which will take approximately 45 minutes to follow.
