MEMBERS of staff working on the new Winchester leisure centre have tested positive for coronavirus.
Building work continues at the Bar End site as two of the Willmott Dixon team self isolate.
A spokesperson for Winchester City Council has confirmed the news.
They said: "Two of Willmott Dixon’s sub-contracted staff working at the new Winchester Sports and Leisure Park development have reported that they have tested positive for Covid-19.
"Wilmott Dixon has reported this to the council and the operatives have contacted track and trace as required by government guidelines and are currently self-isolating.
"The project itself continues to work to safe operating procedures advised by the construction leadership council."
The Chronicle contacted the council after receiving an anonymous tip.
