A STAFF member at Winklebury Infant School has tested positive for coronavirus.

A letter emailed to parents on Friday evening (November 6) confirmed that a member of staff in the infant school had tested positive for the virus.

The letter stated: “The member of staff became ill towards the end of half term and had not been in school or in contact with anyone from school since before half term. Therefore there is no risk to anyone in the Federation and no action to be taken.”

Sarah Mathlin, Head of the Federation, ended the letter by saying: “I am sure you will all join me in wishing the member of staff well and that they have a speedy recovery.”

One parent expressed their concern about when the staff member contracted the virus as it can take up to 14 days for an infected person to show symptoms.

The Gazette contacted The Federation of Winklebury Infant and Junior School for more information, but they declined to comment.
