FIREFIGHTERS raced to cut a man free after he became trapped underneath an agricultural roller.
Teams from Sutton Scotney, Winchester and Redbridge were mobilised at 10.15am on Monday.
A 43-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was cut free using angle grinders and small tools.
The incident happened in Whitehall Road, Little Somborne.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "The incident was handed to police and the farmer to investigate, and the stop message came in at 11.22am."
"A 43-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries," a Hampshire Constabulary spokesman added. "He remains in hospital in a critical condition.
"Enquiries are ongoing into the exact circumstances of this incident.
"We are in liaison with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)."
