THESE pupils supported a mental health charity by wearing yellow.

Stanmore Primary hosted its Hellow Yellow Day on October 9 and raised £218 for Young Minds.

Teachers encouraged the children think about how they can look after themselves, particularly their minds and bodies to make sure that they are content and healthy.

The staff and children wore yellow, a colour the charity uses to show support for young people’s mental health.

A spokesperson said: "We held special activities focussed on wellbeing including painting mindfulness stones."

A Young Minds representative added: "We’re leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. We’re here to make sure they get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.

"The crisis in children and young people’s mental health is real and it is urgent. More children and young people than ever before are reaching out for help with their mental health. But for those who take that brave step, help is much too hard to find."
