A WICKHAM man has been cleared of speeding but banned for failing to cooperate with police.
Glenn Adam Andrews, 53, had been accused of driving a 08-reg Vauxhall at 57mph on Morestead Road near Winchester, where the limit is 40mph, on March 13.
That charge was withdrawn by the prosecution but Andrews, of Wykeham Field, was convicted of failing to give information to the police about the identity of the driver of a vehicle believed to have committed an offence.
The court heard police twice wrote to Andrews but with no acceptable response.
The case was proved under the single justice procedure.
Magistrates in Basingstoke banned him for six months saying the ban was obligatory because of repeat offending. He was also fined £660 with a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
