A TEENAGER has been arrested after two stabbings in Southampton.

As reported by the Daily Echo, police were called to Shirley Precinct at about 3.40pm on Tuesday, October 6.

A fight broke out between three people which resulted in a 22-year-old man being stabbed in the back.

The victim was taken to hospital and has since been discharged with non life-threatening injuries.

The second incident happened between 6pm and 6.15pm the same day near Lidl on Shirley High Street, where a 19-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder.

The victim was also taken to hospital and has since been discharged with non life-threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old boy from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has been released under investigation.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "Officers believe that the people involved in both incidents are known to one another and there is no wider risk to the public.

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed either incident or has any information that could help our investigation.
